It’s been a while, I know… I’m trying a new experiment. This time I’m actually paying for ad placement at Google. This is something I’ve read about over the last couple of years, but never thought I’d actually try.
However… I decided I’d take the plunge and see how this works. I created a couple of ads. One for my main blog and one for an affiliate blog I’ve been running for a while.
Over night last night with my main blog, I received three clicks for about 3000 impressions. And today with my other blog ad I received 1 click for 610 impressions, but it’s slightly more targeted than the first one.
We’ll see how it goes. I’ll check in occasionally over the next week or so to let you know.
How are you guys doing with placing Google ads? Any luck?
So it appears I’m getting some hits a day on two of my three sites that are using Neil Shearing’s 10 Day Cash Secret plug-in for WordPress. And occasionally I’m getting click throughs to my affiliate links.
None of this has translated to a single sale however.
This is now day 13 for blog 1, day 12 for blog 2, and day 10 for blog 3 I believe. So using Neil’s formula and plan, I would expect to see some sales (even just one) from one of these three niches. I don’t believe I’ve picked bad niches. And I understand that not all niches make money. But one of these three diverse areas should have generated one sale you’d think if Shearing’s pattern worked and was reproducible on a regular basis.
That doesn’t appear to be the case. I’m going to let these blogs continue to run until next Monday to see if they need more time to sink in, but I’m doubtful at this point that it will pay off.
Seems I will most likely be requesting a refund within 30 days if this doesn’t pan out, which is a bummer, but it happens. And this may just be one of those cases where “if it’s too good to be true, it probably is”. There are no get rich schemes that work. (Except winning the lottery, and I’ve not had any luck with that.)
So at this point I’m probably going to end up declaring this experiment a failure.
Has anyone actually made any money using this process? (Besides Neil?)
A quick update on this St. Pat’s day for my experiment regarding Neil Shearing’s 10 Day Cash Secret…
(Note that I’m currently out of town on a business trip, so this isn’t going to be as detailed as my last couple of posts… sorry. I hope to detail things quite a bit once I get back home next week.)
It’s been 10 days since I created my first site using Neil Shearing’s feed tool. Since then it has been indexed and I am getting hits, but have had no sales.
It’s only been 9 days since my second blog was created and 8 days since the third was created, and both of those have also been indexed and are getting hits, but have had no clicks converted to sales.
I have three very different niches — stuffed animals, wines, and college basketball/football merchandise for various teams in the NCAA. The one that has garnered the most interest is the last one, with March Madness making people start foaming at the mouth in certain parts of the U.S. (I too have this disease, which is what made me think of it as a good niche.)
So though I’m hopeful that people will start purchasing via my three blog tests, it’s not looking great. Shearing offers a 30 day guarantee, so I’m going to watch my time carefully and see if anything comes of this experiment. Hopeful but wary I guess would be the best way to describe my current view of these blogs.
That said, since I’m away from home for a while I’m going to let things go until next Monday and then see where they’re at.
Has anyone else had any luck using Neil’s system? I’ve got my fingers crossed.
I’ve been writing about Neil Shearing’s 10 Day Cash Secret for the last few posts… If you’re looking to pick it up and get going with it, you can click here…
Neil Shearing is working out the kinks (it’s a piece of software — there are ALWAYS kinks — take it from me as a software engineer), but it works pretty well right out of the box which is saying something.
Yes, I’m still waiting for my riches to roll in. But I’m happy with the results so far. Except for the income stream (and I’m not quite to the 10 day mark yet), I have been quite pleased with it!
So be sure to check it out and read the FAQ which was added just a few days after the 10 Day Cash Secret program went live. Neil’s been extremely active on the FAQ, adding new tidbits of information nearly daily. And when I had problems, he was right there in the support forum helping me out.
Definitely worth checking out this program on your own. And I’d love to hear about your own experiments with it.
Site 1 – indexed by Google with 1 keyword search… no sales yet after 6 days
Site 2 – not indexed, no hits, no sales yet after 4 full days
Site 3 – indexed, 2 keyword hits from Google, no sales yet after 3 full days
What’s funny to me is I created Site 2 before I created Site 3 (not a brilliant deduction there, since 2 does come before 3), yet Site 3 has been indexed and is receiving search hits before site #2.
This is my guess… Site 3 is still being updated, therefore the pingers are pinging and the sitemap is being recreated regularly. Site 2 has gone through all of the items in the affiliate feeds and is done updating. Site 1 is also done with all the items in the affiliate feeds and is done updating (I’m waiting for another affiliate to approve my application so I can add another feed to it).
That said… Shearing talks about updating the site every 5, 10, 15 minutes… But in the FAQ he recently put up, he’s changed his mind and is going every hour. This makes a lot of sense. So if you have a lot of items, you can go more frequently or go frequently at first and then gradually increase the time between posts. Maybe do the first 100 or so at 5 minute increments, but then increase it to 30 minutes or an hour between posts thereafter.
Wish I’d thought of that a lot earlier!
Anyway… If you’re using Neil Shearing’s process, let me know how your results are going. I’d love to hear from you!
Using the steps and tools from the program, I’ve created a blog using an affiliate feed and the 10 Day WordPress plug-in, so we’ll see how it goes. I set it up yesterday, March 7. So we’ll see if I’ve made any money by March 17th (St. Pat’s day, which should be lucky for me being Irish!).
Has anyone else tried out Shearing’s process? I ran into a few glitches here and there, but got it working with some work and help from Shearing’s support site. So I’ll be curious to see how this works out.
The process is simple enough that you can set up a number of blogs pretty quickly, which would then start steamrolling your profits hopefully.
So we’ll see how this goes. I’m curious as to results anyone else has seen with these tools and this process. Let me know and we can compare notes!
